Founded in 1960 by Rudy Gerbus and his brother, Gerbus Bros Construction initially specialized in mass earth moving. In the 1970s, our expertise led us to partner with local power plants to address the environmental challenges of fly ash management. This collaboration gave birth to Trans Ash.

At Trans Ash, we are committed to providing innovative and environmentally responsible solutions for handling fly ash. We specialize in creating lined landfills that safely contain processed ash, ensuring the highest standards of environmental safety for our energy clients.

This summer 2025 seasonal position is located at the Cincinnati Office. Full time opportunities maybe available out of state after the co op. Pay Rate:

$18.00 - $23.00 / hour

Job Summary:

The shop co-op, working closely with a mechanic mentor, will be preforming light mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on heavy equipment, trucks, and trailors. 

Essential Functions:

  • Daily Inspection of equipment for safe operation.
  • Preventative maintance
  • Perform minor repairs (oil leaks, hydraulic hoses, lights, etc.).
  • Complete maintenance tasks according to manufacturer's schedule and in conformance with all maintenance and environmental policies.
  • Report issues to the shop manager.
  • May perform other duties as assigned by shop manager.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

Experience:

  • Prior experience servicing trucks/equipment is preferrable.

Education/ Certification:

  • Must be actively seeking a degree or certification in mechanical maintenance, truck, tailor, or a related field.

Other information:

  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, lifting.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb, operate vehicles and small equipment.
  • Must be able to work in a construction environment.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a drug test, MVR, and background check.
